On June 9, 2026, we had the privilege of being welcomed by the Belgian Federal Police Mounted Unit, who had contacted us shortly after the launch of our e-commerce website.
From the very beginning, they recognized Spiritnova Prima as a potential solution to a challenge they face every day: finding a saddle that can properly adapt to horses with very different conformations. In their daily operations, they work with numerous horses of varying types, sizes, and builds, which also change physically and musculoskeletally over time. This often requires them to replace or modify saddles in an effort to provide the best possible comfort for each horse.
We were welcomed into an extraordinary facility: immaculate stables, extensive indoor and outdoor arenas, outstanding organization, and an environment that reflects the high level of professionalism with which the Belgian Federal Police Mounted Unit is managed.
During the visit, we had the opportunity to test Spiritnova Prima on three completely different horses.
The first horse had a high wither, stood approximately 1.75 meters at the withers, and was characterized by a relatively lean back. Using the Spiritnova fitting system, we were able to adapt the saddle quickly to his conformation. After only a few minutes of work, the rider who works with him daily and knows him extremely well reported a noticeable difference: the horse was negotiating turns more fluidly, entering lines more easily, and appeared freer in his movements and more relaxed from the very beginning of the session.
We then fitted the saddle to a large draft horse, a Gypsy Vanner–Shire cross used in official ceremonies and public events, where he also carries ceremonial drums. Once again, simply by adjusting the inserts of our fitting system, we were able to achieve an effective and immediate adaptation.
The final test was perhaps the most interesting. This horse had shown sensitivity in the middle section of his back for several years and had a particularly unusual conformation, with a much straighter topline than is typically seen in most horses. Here too, the Spiritnova fitting system allowed us to identify a suitable configuration. After warming up, the officers who work with the horse every day observed a different attitude: he began to stretch his neck more, move with greater fluidity, and show a stronger willingness to move forward.
The observations gathered throughout the day came directly from the professionals of the Belgian Federal Police Mounted Unit, who know these horses intimately and work with them on a daily basis.
Their interest in Spiritnova Prima was so significant that we have already begun working together to develop saddles tailored to their operational requirements and the various services they perform in the field.
For us, it was a day of great value, not only because of the importance of the institution involved, but above all because it confirmed that a different approach to saddle design can offer new possibilities for adaptability, comfort, and well-being for horses with very different characteristics.
